Role: Process Engineer


Overall Objective:

The candidate for this position will be responsible for monitoring and improvement of existing processes and the operations of our systems. The candidate should also be able to recommend improvements to the process through the tracking of metrics and reporting of data. The candidate will need strong technical abilities in order to succeed in this role.

Engineering Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment

  • Strong background working with CNC machines and robotics

  • Experience working with and mentoring technicians

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Perform detailed review of customer drawings to ascertain material, manufacture and processing requirements

  • Adhere to and develop processes to ensure parts are manufactured to customer requirements in accordance with internal procedures

  • Set-up new product through ERP database to ensure all processes are adhered to and recorded during product manufacture

  • Perform DFM and DFA reviews to drive product improvements and ease of manufacture / assembly of customer designs

  • Liaise with external design engineers to ensure design / process ambiguity is resolved

  • Liaise with raw material and second process suppliers to ensure specification requirements are met and within budget

  • Coordinate with operational functions to identify potential inefficiencies or obsolete processes and/or technologies

  • Produce detailed cost analysis on new opportunities in line with business processes

  • Evaluate and determine product, material and equipment specifications and provide manufacturing engineering support for precision machining, finishing and assembly

  • Troubleshoot new products and processes working closely with product development

  • Continually seek to drive improvements in process design, layout and operational performance. Drive, support and participate in ongoing continuous improvement projects for cycle time, cost and defect and machine downtime reduction

  • Ensure compliance to industry quality and environmental standards; develop and implement appropriate supporting documentation

  • Share knowledge and experience with others and provide relevant training to colleagues, where required

  • Any other duties as reasonably required
