Role: Maintenance Engineer

Overall Objective

Support, manage and improve plant maintenance program, in order to ensure safe, timely and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment.

Reporting to: Head of Operations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • · At least 3 years’ experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment

  • · Strong background working with CNC machines and robotics

  • · Experience working with and mentoring technicians or apprentices desirable

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Maintain all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operations

  • · Ensure that periodic and preventive maintenance are appropriately scheduled and accomplished and that emergency troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed

  • · Manage maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling and work allocation to ensure measurable goals, proper workload distribution, goal satisfaction

  • · Monitor and continually improve maintenance processes and maintenance personnel performance to achieve enhanced levels of efficiency.

  • · Coordinate with operational functions to identify potential inefficiencies or obsolete processes and/or technologies

  • · Produce detailed cost analysis on new opportunities in line with business processes

  • · Continually seek to drive improvements in equipment efficiencies and operational performance. Drive, support and participate in ongoing continuous improvement projects for machine downtime reduction

  • · Liaise with equipment vendors to establish appropriate preventive/predictive maintenance schedules

  • · Mentor and manage apprentices

  • · Ensure compliance to industry quality and environmental standards; develop and implement appropriate supporting documentation

  • · Share knowledge and experience with others and provide relevant training to colleagues, where required

  • · Any other duties as reasonably required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proven maintenance engineering skills
