Role:                     Production Planner


Overall Objective

To ensure the effective planning, organization and coordination of production schedules.

Reporting To

Head of Operations

Hours

39 hours per week

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a planning/scheduling role, preferably in the manufacturing sectors

  • Very good IT skills with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor desirable)

  • Third level Business or Supply Chain qualification (desirable)

Person/Skills Required

  • Excellent time management, organisation and planning ability; capable of multitasking and dealing with competing priorities within tight deadlines.

  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Detail focussed with strong analytical thinking

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Define monthly production plans based on customer forecasts with the understanding of operational constraints

  • Create weekly production plans in the ERP system and track production variances

  • Keep Production Manager and Head of Operations informed of production plan and any potential bottlenecks

  • Work closely with production and engineering to accommodate fast track customer orders or prototypes

  • Define inventory plans to demonstrate accurate planning

  • Generate purchase requisitions and ensure availability of material to meet production planning

  • Work closely with procurement personnel to consider external vendor inputs and outputs to determine options for component management

  • Management of relevant KPIs whilst leading and participating in continuous improvement

  • Support the development of any future improvements to the planning process

  • All other duties as reasonably required
